Seven steps, one estimate

It starts with a conversation and your plans. We read the architect’s drawings, mark what will not work once the house is lived in, and learn how you live and what you want. Budget is discussed openly. From there we put together a design estimate.

This is where the house is decided. We set the direction for the interior architecture, sketch the first ideas for each room and bring together the palette and materials: stone, timber, tile and metal, chosen piece by piece. Real materials only, nothing imitation.

Each room is planned for its proportions and how you move from one into the next. The kitchen and bathrooms are laid out with their cabinetry, benchtops, tapware and tiles, resolved as one piece. Whether it is one room or a whole house, it has to work functionally and aesthetically.

Then the detail. Every finish is chosen for durability as much as for how it looks, and warm metals sit beside cool ones so the house feels gathered over time. Integrated cabinets and built-in furniture keep one consistent design, with appliances and equipment built in.

Before anything is ordered or built, the whole house is modelled in 3D. You see the rooms, the materials and the finishes as they will be, so the concept can be approved with nothing left to guess. Approval closes the concept stage.

The approved concept becomes the technical drawings your builder or contractor quotes on and builds from: plans, elevations, schedules and specifications, every dimension resolved. Project management is optional. If you want it, we oversee the build alongside your contractors, part time or full time.

Furniture, lighting, curtains and artwork, down to the bedding and the smallest objects, sourced from artisans and suppliers around the world, delivered, installed and styled before you move in. For some clients this is the whole commission.
